To wage war; draw no quarter, to take the lambs of the earth to the slaughter; watch innocence die beneath a restless sky. We are all the sons and daughters of the earth, each birth a miracle of creation; a potential dream of how life should be. See positively, try to be free.
We cannot detach ourselves from the planet; nature herself defines existence. In the blink of an eye humanity can become extinct. Those who do not think on tomorrow; who reside in acts of always taking will fall with the rest of us. Rich, poor, indifferent; natural law decides.
An unkind word or a cruel act, blinds us from seeing a better world; inspires ill will in all of us. Kindness heals; compassion and understanding combined, opens the heart to a soul gone blind. We must bind Earth's wounds; connect to her in positive ways, treat her with respect.
A 1000 species lost, extinct, tossed aside; pieces of a deranged human jigsaw puzzle that no longer seems to fit. To resort with human hand in fist; muzzle, distort the natural image of the land, to bend, break, kill what makes us live. The puzzle in us all? We watch as pieces fall.
Each sunrise; the demise of the old day, but a new day begins; a new beginning on a forever spinning world. Never stop, as every turn creates a new path to renew the earth. Each sunbeam; gifts us life, lifts us to a new start; not to be apart. but to reach to the heart of earth.
If we treated all animals as our children; nurtured, cared for their wellbeing, humanity could finally see and learn the true definition of humane. The pain and suffering of innocent sentient beings; a dark reflection of humankind's desire to consume without seeing consequences.
Much pain; grief in the world, never give up on the belief; humanity can be kind. All that's forsaken, broken, torn away, cannot be ignored or unspoken, nor laid to dust, forgotten by us. Every inch of land needs hands to mend. Tears? Never enough. Listen to nature, lend an ear.
We must purify the mind to purify the earth; find within us a deep respect for all who fly, walk and crawl. Never walk asleep, nor talk with hate or allow greed to consume our every need. Not too late to understand that our greatest strength is not a fist, but in a helping hand.
From root to branch; all trees carry memories, embedded in history, wedded to the land. Trees flower, and grow; great power in every bough, for without the tree, there is no here and now. As their roots uncoil, each know the value of the soil and branches high to purify the sky.
The tree grows; no one knows his final height; the true spiritual might of each branch that reaches into light. The tree of life looms everlasting; 5000 years in bloom. Never felled, held in high esteem by gentle human hands. Trees; beacons of the earth, all the dreams of life.
If we can only be one thing to each other, let us at least be honest. For in many hearts and minds, there's a forest of deception. The more we choose to lie; the more the branches tangle and tie, until the lies blot out the sky; lose us forever. Never forget; deception blinds.
Groundbreaking human endeavour, has broken the ground that surrounds us. Reaching for the skies; high aspiration, has bought a world where many humans and animals die in abject desolation. We knew what blind ambition would do. We must reject the old ways or new days will be few.
The human race; not a competition. From first to last place; the thirst for money, power, success will drown us all. The system created addiction; reliance on the things to control, poison and destroy us. We are not wind-up toys to be kept and controlled. The key to step free is ours.
The meek will not inherit the earth, nor the weak who perceive their place in a false paradise; knowing the value of everything, the price of nothing. Selfish minds devalue the world. Humble insects in time may in deed inherit the earth; for they are the true owners of the land.
Alone in darkness extending each hand, the world duly withers, tumbles like sand. Deep cracks in the landscape; chasms of doubt, unearthly humanity; floods, fire and drought. The actions we take until we breathe our last breath pour the sands of our time into mountains of death.
Eyes closed creates a world in darkness; begin to open them again, leave darkness behind, to see with an open mind. Step forth into a forest of deeper thought, intertwined with dreams of how the world must be, never confined by negativity. Be free to give, so all of us may live.
The past lives in all of us, from the first second, until the last final breath, all we are, all we once were, defines and shapes existence. Those who arrogantly think the creatures of the earth beneath them or lust for power, will at some forgotten hour, be beneath the earth.
In time we all enter eternity. Before we part, reach down; take the next generation by the hand. Teach truth, help them understand; we are earthlings, bound as one; moon and sun between us. Never leave them lost, weighed down by boulders of our own making. Never forsake their future.
Not as we look; the content of a book can never be defined by the cover. Feel empathy; know prejudice kills the human soul, stains the past, inflames the present, destroys, darkens the future. To grow we must see through the color of our eyes; not judge by the color of our skin.
History claims us, carries us on, beyond mortal living, the flesh that has gone. We travel beyond the masking of dreams, to exist beyond living, the stars we have seen. Streams beyond conscious, destiny merging, into the starlight onward and surging.
